When you are trolling outside of the freshwater rivers you will be looking for a trolling motor that is built to withstand the harsher conditions presented by salt water.
Using a fresh water motor in the briny will cause failures in the seals and ultimately damage the motor irreparably. If you want to go into saltwater, use a saltwater trolling motor!
