Minn Kota E-Drive Primary Propulsion
At two horse power the Minn Kota E-Drive electric outboard motor is powerful enough to push your pontoon around the lake for up to two hours on just one charge.Of course if you are not barreling around at the full 5mph then the battery will last a good bit longer.
The E-Drive is considered a primary propulsion motor ideal for those lakes and rivers where the gas motor can't go or is banned, added that it is whisper quiet, doesn't belch out exhaust fumes and there is no risk of a gas spillage.
The E-Drive runs on a 48 volt system and comes in two flavors, cable steer or tiller. The shaft length is twenty inches which should be fine for most pontoons with a transom mounting point.

Controlling the E-Drive is easy with its electronic throttle control which gives you variable forward and reverse modes and a simple push button up/down tilt facility
Battery life is maximized with the patented Digital Maximizer technology which delivers just the right amount of power to the motor with the waste caused by traditional speed coils.
The propeller is stainless steel incorporating a sheer pin to protect it from submerged obstacles and also has a sacrificial zinc anode to help in the battle with corrosion.
The Minn Kota E-Drive features the "Cool, Quiet Power" motor with oversized windings and commutators which run cooler and quieter (hence the name) to give yet more extension to battery life and motor reliability.
Choose from the E-Drive, bolt on transom motor or the E-Drive Tiller which is a clamp on model. The RRP for both these electric outboards is around $2600.
